Updated: MONDAY, March 16th
With the ongoing spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the incredible speed at which things are changing around us, we are continually adapting our operations at the studio. It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to temporarily close the studio at this time, starting after the noon class on Monday, 3/16. Many of you have reached out to us to express your support for our people and this community. This means the world to us and to our teachers. We thank you deeply for treating us like family. We appreciate your loyalty and never take it for granted. And we will be here to support your practice again as soon as we can safely reopen. In the meantime, stay tuned for online classes.
As a valued member of our YogaSol community, we appreciate the trust you place in us and our team to care for you like we care for our own families.
Given the current developments of COVID-19 (the coronavirus), it’s incredibly important that we all stay informed and more consciously care for ourselves. That’s why we wanted to update you on the steps we are taking to ensure your health and safety while you practice with us.
Our Commitment to You
In addition to our nightly enhanced cleaning and purification routines, we are following the latest information and guidance released by the CDC concerning COVID-19. At this time, we feel confident that our studio continues to be safe, and we will remain open for business.
The latest information indicates sweat CANNOT transmit the virus, but coughing and sneezing on high-contact surfaces can pose a problem. That’s why you’ll see us more regularly using disinfectant spray (which the CDC says should be effective against the Coronavirus) to clean all surfaces at the studio.
Shortly after we opened the studio, we installed a REME HALO air purification system, which is active 100% of the time. This system uses ultraviolet ray and ionization technologies to kill 99% of tested bacteria and viruses. We also send all of our towels and cleaning rags to an outside cleaner for sanitizing. These are just a few of the ways we have always done everything we can to keep our clients and staff safe and healthy.
While our studio has the capacity to host 50 people in each class, we are limiting class participation to 20 for our yoga classes and 15 for our pilates classes so participants can have plenty of space. This will be on a first come first serve basis. Our teachers will also only be providing verbal instructions instead of any hands-on corrections for postures.
Check-in procedures will happen at the front desk with a staff member rather than having to touch the high-contact iPads. We also will keep the door to the studio propped open prior to the start of the class and at the end of the class so students do not have to touch the handle while entering or leaving.
Because of our preparedness, we do not foresee any issues with keeping our studio open for the community. We will continue to follow updates released by various health organizations, and we will keep you apprised of any changes.
What Should You Do?
- Because most person-to-person viruses are spread through direct contact with others, we ask that anyone experiencing fever and cough to stay home until you are well.
- Disinfectant spray is available to wash down yoga mats and blocks after each use, but we encourage you to bring your own yoga mat.
- We encourage you to bring extra towels for your personal use.
- Use our hand sanitizer before and after your practice.
- Distance yourself from anyone who is expressing symptoms of sickness.
- Wash your hands regularly.
- Do NOT touch your face, mouth, nose, or eyes without thoroughly sanitizing your hands.
- Do NOT share food or beverages with others.
- For additional information on how you can prevent the spread of illness, please see the CDC website.
We believe Yoga and Pilates are an important part of staying healthy. We know health is a top priority in your life, and we are committed to doing our best to provide a safe place for our clients and community to continue their practice.
We hope to see you at the studio very soon.
Until then, Namaste,
Dan, Jeanne, and the YogaSol team
Update 3/14/2020
Here’s an excerpt from a technical bulletin we recently received from our REME Halo Air Purfication System.
From the World Health Organization, “Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).”
Is RGF’s PHI-Cell® and REME HALO® technology effective at reducing COVID-19?
COVID-19 is a member of the enveloped RNA coronavirus (subgenus sarbecovirus, Orthocoronavirinae) subfamily. While RGF® does not have testing specifically on COVID-19, we have validated test results showing 99+% reductions on similar viruses. These viruses, like COVID-19, are also ‘enveloped’ or protein jacketed virus types. If we can reduce these virus types, an assumption could be made that we would also be effective at reducing the current coronavirus at hand. Important to note that we make no medical claims.
